Fear Takes Flight

This was written about a week ago, but I’ve been unable to post it because of reasons I can’t go into without a lawyer present.

I’m not an easy flyer; one of those people who breezes through airports as if they’re at the park and then makes best friends with the rabbi sitting next to them while airborne. No matter how many hours I’ve logged as a Delta flyer, I’m still frightened to death of the friendly skies. I’ll always be one of those nervous cat-like passengers who anxiously claws the vinyl seats and has a panic attack, screaming “we’re going DOWN,” …

Click here to download my book, Just Kidding (not really) to read the rest of this and 60 other funny essays about life, marriage, kids and being neurotic.

About angelaweight

Awkward, imperfect, ADD wife to tightly wound financial planner, mom of two boys, and rescuer of lucky stray animals. I should probably see a therapist rather than write a blog. But hopefully I can offer a few laughs along the way.

Angela that was hilarious! I too am a bad flyer (I panic if I forget to bring my rosary with me). I have gone through everyone of those scenarios and then some!

  2. Thanks for reading, Joanne. I'm glad you can relate. Or am I? 🙂

In my younger days, I was never afraid of flying. At one time we owned a Piper Club that my Dad had to set down in a pasture somewhere in Arkansas because he couldn't find the airport. That was nothing. Yet, the older I get, the more fearful I become. In fact, even though I knew it was going to be funny, I wouldn't read this until I got back from Hawaii. It is funny, but only when I'm on the ground.
