My Family is at Disney World Without Me. It’s Time to (pity) Party!

For the first time I can remember, I’m home…alone. Because my evil family decided to take off for Disney World without me. I was in the bathroom washing my hands (because I’m clean like that) and I heard them whispering all loudly “hurry, get your shoes, come on LET’s GO…before she comes out.” And sure enough, when I opened the bathroom door I caught a glimpse of the rented minivan speeding out of the driveway. It was then that I understood why James suddenly had the urge to rent a minivan. It wasn’t that Enterprise coupon that was just too good not to use. They’d been planning this thing all along …

  1. I had a week free to myself in June. It was incredible. I worked late without guilt if I wanted to — then I could exercise even later if I wanted without guilt. And I cooked all this healthy stuff that takes time – because no one was standing over me saying, “I've got to eat NOW.” Enjoy yourself. I'm a big kid and enjoy a few days at Disney, but this time of year it is so hot and a few days by yourself? It's heaven.

This is hilarious! Super clever! Nothing like some quality time… for myself.

  3. Sharon says:

Hilarious! So glad their absence gave you time to write.
When you live by yourself you love company, but can't wait until they leave.

Sorry you got left behind, Angela, but glad you're writing again. I enjoy your work

You're on my Google Reader. Glad I checked by today. Don't be a stranger.

  5. Guys, thank you so darn much for your comments. It's been so long since I've blogged, or kept up with anything remotely writerly, I'd forgotten how great if feels when people read and comment about your stuff. I really appreciate y'all taking the time. You just made my day.

  6. Jody Worsham says:

Yeah, you'r baaaack! Got a grin out of me and I needed that. Too funny.
