Sanity Waiting to Happen is not your average mom blog. I don’t write about food allergies, birthday party themes, scrapbooking, crafts with toddlers, mommy clothing styles or any of that other stuff. I do have kids. And I often write about them. But make no mistake, you will not learn a THING about kids or parenting from this blog.
SEE HUGE, EXCITING, LANDMARK ANNOUNCEMENT A FEW PARAGRAPHS BELOW!!!
I tackle the tougher topics…like why do cat food makers shape the morsels like fish or chicken? Do cats really care? Exactly how many of something is “more than you can shake a stick at?” And then there’s my ongoing paranoia that my house smells like animals and no one will tell me. That topic shows up a lot.
WordPress says that I’m supposed to tell you a few things about myself so that you’ll want to read more of my posts. Here goes.
My name is Angela Weight. I live in Midlothian, VA with my husband James, two sons, Andrew and Jack, dogs Katie and Ayla and cats, Anakin and Cali. We’re new to the area…transplants from the Dublin, GA area, where I grew up. My husband has a job that pays the bills so I can sit around and obsess about cat food shapes and how my house smells. I also have this goal of seeing all 50 states by the time I’m 50. I’m 40 now and have been to 42 of them. If you have any friends or family in Vermont, Rhode Island, Minnesota, Mississippi, Arkansas, Oklahoma, North Dakota or Alaska who’d like us to come visit (and maybe pay for it) let me know.
Both of my sons (ages 13 and 9) play a ridiculous amount of baseball. If I’m not at home or out buying scented wax warmer cubes, I’m probably at a baseball field somewhere in Suburbia. In fact, I have to leave now to take Jack to practice. I’ll write more later.
****My first ebook of essays is now available on Amazon, ibooks and Smashwords. Barnes & Noble will upload it soon, hopefully.
Oh, another thing you need to know. We’re SF Giants fans. Crazy, fanatical Giants fans. I grew up a Braves fan, but converted when I married James who grew up in the Bay Area. That’s important.
Great! Now Jack is late for practice.
And here are a few more random pics that still make me smile, regardless of how many times I look at them.
Just popped over from Twitter and I love you already. If I were in one of the 8 States, I would immediately ask you to visit (although I’m afraid, you would have to pay). As it is, you’ll have to cross the puddle instead. Who knows? Maybe after State #50! In the meantime, I hope to connect with you virtually. Sue

Wow you sound super busy! I just moved to Richmond a few in September! Since you have two boys I was wondering if you know of any family friendly place to play games with your family and stuff! And how is the life of a teen age mom? I’m getting worried cause my little boy turns 13 in December and I’m freaking out!!!!! By the way, I love your blog!

Thanks, Emily!!! Are you in Chesterfield? I know there’s a Dave and Buster’s in Short Pump. Also we went to Sky Zone off Midlo Turnpike on Saturday. Trampolines! So much fun. Hard on the bladder. There’s also a GoKart place right next door to SkyZone. Thanks so much for reading my blog. I’m really glad you enjoy it.

Never read your “About” until now. Not to be petty, but of your eight missing states there are two Alaskas. Did I miss something in geography class? Haha

Lol. They added another Alaska when Pluto got demoted. It was a balancing thing.

Hahahaha 😉 glad I found this blog! Will definitely be coming back to read!

Stephanie, thanks so much for your comment. I’m so glad you enjoy my blog aka madness. I’ve been thinking about a dating advice post. What a great idea because there’s so much to say and so many opinions.

I’m a mom of a boy who just turned two and is already trying to outwit, outrun, and outmuscle me. I laugh inside as I make a stern face to let him know that protesting the wearing of diapers & pants is not ok and secretly quiver at the thought that the ‘i didn’t do it’/denial phase has already begun. Mommy blogs are new to me, but some FB post led me down a path of blog-hopping, thinking that I should learn to bake and sew to become a better mommy in the coming years. Found your “things that make me laugh” link and I’m hooked. Your post reminded me that it’s nice to take the time to laugh & enjoy those little moments.
